My $.02...local owner changed to sliders so he gave me his running boards, 2. I have people in my life that need the help to board, 3. I have full size Thule box for road trips and I haul lumber, xmas trees on roof, 4. They are pretty easy to put on and take off. YMMV.

OP here. Thanks for all of your input. I think I'm going to go without any running boards, rock rails, etc... for a while on my TRD Pro and see how I feel after a few months. There are so many people doing so many mods when it comes to them, I think I can find a set of take offs in just about any style for a reasonable price. I'm still trying to decide if a TRD Pro looks 'naked' or incomplete without any type of rock rails or running boards, but I appreciate everyone's opinions.

I think your life was less complicated when you were Platinum or Die Trying. Just to put salt on your non-existent wound, the Platinum has the best level, most sturdy auto boards of all-time! You know I'm just playing with ya, right? Platinum or Die Trying 4EVER!

Lol. :) Too funny. You know, I was all set on the Platinum and I still do love the automatic running boards one can get on it. Those are sweet...not gonna lie. But I blame a bunch of you guys on this forum for changing me from 'Platinum or Die Trying' to 'TRD Pro or Die Trying'! Dudes like @Badkarma8541 , @papadop88 , and several others start posting all these incredible pictures of their Underground TRD Pros and I couldn't resist! Now my wallet is a lot lighter! Thanks a lot.

But, I'll still love looking at all the Platinum's that I'll see on the forum! Sweet ride for sure. The Platinum makes more sense for my driving habits, but I went with my heart this time instead of my head.

I think it looks pretty darn awesome without the running boards or rock sliders. I have thought of taking predators off till replacements arrive. As stated earlier they can deflect rocks and gravel and i have the same mindset especially as i am now running 295 tires and ditched front flaps. I will eventually be going with rock sliders with the plates on them to ease stepping into the vehicle and strength. I am looking at the Westcot 0° with plates and the kick out for ease of access to the roof. My rock sliders on my 75 bronco are just tubes and i have slipped a couple times on them. Even though i have grip tape on them, not fun. But they look purty damn cool.
