Has anyone installed the Rago front bumper on their TRD ORP HYBRID? The website says it's not compatible with any hybrid, but when I called them, they said they aren't certain if it will (or will not) fit the hybrid models. @papadop88 installed this on his TRD PRO without issue, so I'm wondering if I'll be fine as long as the front-end build is the same. If anyone has installed this on their HYBRID, please let me know! TIA

All the hybrids are built the same as the Pros and THs. On my Pro, there was no issue. When I spoke to Rago they said they just couldn’t confirm it because they never mounted it to a Pro but their in house fabricator who builds the bumpers said he couldn’t see why they wouldn’t fit. Only thing that does not fit without modifying it is the TRD pro or TH skid plates once the bumper is mounted.

I suggest giving them a call yourself to triple confirm. They’re good dudes.

Thank you. I think this gives me the confidence to pull the trigger.

No problem. Just send them a quick email to confirm though. Who knows, maybe toyota did something dumb between hybrids, non-hybrids, and Pros. Just like they did with the threaded and non-threaded chassis. lol.

For my install on my Pro, no mod to skid plate needed. Will be discussed in my install video when I can get around to editing it and uploading it.

Great job on the video. Very informative and thorough. Congrats on the new bumper, brother.

Question though, what did you do to modify the bumper to mount the TRD Pro skid plate?

Thanks! Appreciate it.
I had to widen the bolt holes, on the bumper, that are for the skid plate mounting points. They were just off by 1/4”. Im sure if I kept everything loose I could have wiggled it into place but it was so hard getting the main bolts to line up that I tightened those down before looking at if those holes lined up.

so just took a drill and file and make the holes slight bigger. Once I could get the bolts to thread in there, putting the skid plate back on was a breeze with the longer bolts I had.

hope that answers your question. Thank again!

Appreciate it. Figured you enlarged them. We saw that they were slightly off so I left it off for now, but might enlarge them down the road.

okay. So they are slightly off and it wasnt me.
Was pretty simple to enlarge them with the bumper installed. Just took a drill and drilled next to the hole and worked the bit around and then used a small file to open it up until the bolt would thread in easily. Was a pain in the ass though. Took around 45 min to get the holes opened up. Then quick black spray paint to cover up the bare metal and clean it up.

Solid work. Looks great. Making it look easy in the Bay Area. Is a Squawbum related to a Palisadesbum? Change the name if you like, but it's "Squaw Valley, Ski The Sun" forever.
