Hi all, I'm a new 4Runner owner and I'm looking at getting the Prinsu Pro rack for my 2025 SR5. From what I've read, the 2025 has a dynamic load capacity of 165lbs (770lbs static). But the Prinsu Pro rack says it increases that capacity to 700lbs (1200lbs static).
(Directly from the Prinsu Pro description) https://prinsu.com/product/toyota-4runner-prinsu-pro-roof-rack-2025/:
"Increased Load Capacity: Carry more with an impressive 700lbs dynamic and 1200lbs static load capacity."
My question is how is this possible? Wouldn't the weight capacity of the roof be the same no matter what rack you have on it? Also, would it void any warranties if you did put that rack on and went over the 165lb weight limit?
I reached out to Prinsu and they said they've tested it and haven't had any issues, but it seemed like they were speaking more towards the build quality of the rack itself, and not to the capacity of the actual 4Runner roof.
