Hi All,

I'm looking to go with the Prinsu OG Roof Rack for my 6th gen.

Wondering if anyone has the OG rack (Not the Pro), and has any experience with having a RTT on top? I don't plan on using the rack to mount anything heavy besides the RTT. Curious how the OG handles weight on top compared to the Pro rack. I know the Pro has about 44% more strength according to their website, but if the OG does fine, it wouldn't justify the cost for me to spend more to just have a bare rack most of the time for daily use.

Here's my 6th gen!

I can’t exactly speak from experience, but I do have the original Prinsu rack waiting in my apartment for a warm enough day to install it. I bought the rack specifically for a rooftop tent. Its dynamic load capacity is 700 lbs and the static load capacity is 1200 lbs.

So essentially, as long as the weight of the tent plus occupants isn’t greater than 1200 lbs, you should be just fine.

In terms of build quality, the rack looks very solid. I can get back to you when I install it but I don’t see any issues with it at this point

Yes, please update if you get the chance! I’m pretty sure the OG rack is fine for most applications. Otherwise, they probably wouldn’t put a product like this out lol

This thing is solid for sure. Myself and 2 of my buddies climbed up onto it, and it held the weight without hesitation. You can rock the car back and forth from the rack as well. I haven’t noticed any play at all. My assumption would be that it will have no issues with your application, and I plan on putting a RTT on mine.
