Passenger Air Bag ON Light

2025 TRD Sport - Today for the first time, I noticed this light on in the overhead console. I was in the driver seat and my wife was in the front passenger seat. The manual says this is normal but I don't remember seeing it on before. Is it indeed normal for the truck to think it's necessary to tell us the front passenger air bag is indeed ON? I would think this would be the default if someone is in the front passenger seat.

Is there a way to disable this status light? It catches my eye because it's red and red means bad in my mind.

it wont come on until certain conditions are met in the passenger seat.

its stated in owners manual

if the light bothers you have the wife sit in the back seat or cover it with black tape

passenger warning airbag light has been a staple of toyota's since at least the 2000's. i have it on my 2014 4R but its a big square light in the middle of the dash
