Does the OEM camera block the driver’s view at all? Can it be mounted on the passenger side of the windshield instead? Thanks.

I never notice it so I'm going to say no. I think if you were looking up in the air at the right angle -- maybe trying to spot a bird, a plane, or perhaps superman -- then it might become a momentary issue until the object moved, or you shifted your head by one centimeter to the left.

Thanks. Did you shorten the length of the camera? At 8:20 mark in this video has the instructions on how to shorten it?

It doesn't block it, but it's certainly in your face. If you remove the mirror cover, the overhead console, and drop the headliner down a bit (requires removing the sun visor posts), I think you can swap it to the passenger side, but I haven't verified that the wire is long enough. Pretty sure it is though.

I got an OEM dash cam (PT949-34222) new no box from eBay for $215 and just finished installing it. A few notes from my experience:

Camera length adjustment: You can actually shorten the camera a bit by opening the cover and setting the height to the lowest position. I think Toyota designed it this way so the same unit can fit different SUV models.

Mounting position: I installed mine on the passenger side. The cable is long enough to reach, and this placement keeps it out of my line of sight while still allowing me to press the buttons from the driver’s side if needed.

Removing the map light console: This was the toughest part. At first, I was afraid I’d break something and spent a lot of time being too gentle. Later, I found out that besides the bezel, there’s really nothing fragile — the console is held by four solid clips that don’t break easily. Once I knew that, I went back, pushed my fingers all the way in and pulled it down with confidence, and it popped right out in two seconds. Nothing broke!

Thanks for all the help!!
