I'm taking my TRD Pro off roading for the first time and plan to do some rock crawling. I currently have the OEM mudflaps installed, anybody have any experience taking these out? Wondering if I should remove them before my trip before ultimately replacing them with something more suitable.

As mentioned above, not flexible. When they do drag, it sounds like you are ripping the entire side panel off. Horrendous sound.

I’ve dragged mine, I haven’t had any body damage from doing so but I know it’s a possibility in certain cases. I’ve also not had any rock chips on the lower rear doors in front of the wheel that others have mentioned, so pick your poison I guess. A flexible option may be nice but I haven’t had issues with OEM.

yes, not flexible, and the fasteners are not sacrificial enough to
allow just the mudguard to rip off harmlessly.

they can snag and rip apart the bumper plastics if you rake them on rocks enough
