Hi
I know I’m a bit behind on thread but just got my 25 4Runner TRD off road. Getting ready to put kings 2.5 kit along with 35/11.5r17 tires wheel combo 17/8.5 +25 offset. I’m putting .5 spring lift in rear too. It’s a hybrid so a bit heavier. Also a camburg kinetic upper arms. Do you think I’ll have any rubbing issues. Hoping the 11.5 tires will make it a bit better on clearance.
You should be fine. Even with 12.5 in width tires, we are not having any major clearance issues, with very minimal trimming that are not even visible. Although We do feel like the rear could use another 1 inch of lift.

Hi all,

We are super excited to be able to get our hands on the 4Runner early on, and would like to share with everyone what we have done to it so far!

A quick overview:

Wheels, Tires, Fender Flares:

NYTOP ADV-Classic monoblock forged (custom wrapped) 17x8.5 +25mm offset, about 23.5 lbs per wheel. They are wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grappler 35x12.5 inch tires. We find this offset fits perfectly with our 1 inch wider NYTOP Carbon Fiber Fender Flares.

Suspension:

We worked with Icon Vehicle Dynamics to help test fit their first set of 2.5 shocks and billet UCA and rear links on our 4Runner. It’s set at 2.5 inch front and half inch rear lift.

Hydraulic bump stops coming next.

Underbody protection and Recovery Gear:

NYTOP billet carbon steel recovery points. In our testings, we find that carbon steel is generally a better material for recovery points for safety reasons.

Full aluminum skids: fits both hybrid and non-hybrid powertrains. It’s a 3 piece modular design, and it allows for an easy removal of the front piece (4 bolts) for less messy oil changes.

On the rear, we have the NYTOP titanium axle back exhaust pipe, which Increases ground clearance and enhances the exhaust tone. We see a 5-7 dB of volume increase throughout the rev range.

NYTOP rock sliders. They are non-tubular. It offers a 15° angles for better clearance on the bottom, while maintaining a complete flat top offering over 6 inches of stepping surface.

Next week we are going to visit Baja Designs HQ to help them test some new lighting kits for the new 4Runner. We are also going to put on our front bumper in the same week. Stay Tuned for that!
Looks great! Would you please share your experience about the icon shocks on road and off road? For daily dring stock shocks are rigid/stiff, I Wonder if that is improved with icon shocks on road.

If you think the stock shocks are stiff on the road, we definitley would NOT recommand swtiching to any aftermartket suspension options...
