Welcome Jerry and congrats on your delivery. What MPG numbers are you seeing so far from the non-hybrid i-Force engine? (Maybe not accurate yet tho since so few miles and probably still on first tank of gas)

And what dash cam did you have installed? The video is nice and sharp.

i would say the mpg is about 21-23. My neighbor is a 27 years mechanic at our local toyota dealership that its about 2 mpg of difference between the hybrid and non hybrid. It will eliminate the additional maintenance of having the hybrid…

the dash cam is a from toyota dealership and i like the design the integration etc but cost a little more

There is a press embargo on driving impressions from Toyota until the 28th I believe. Toyota had the media drive event for the 4Runner out in San Diego last week, but the videos from that event are embargoed by Toyota until the 28th. I didn’t know if new owners were being told not to share any specifics until the rest of the journalist videos are released.

There's definitely an embargo on the press drive reviews which will lift 1/28 Tuesday morning so that's when we'll see all the first drive review articles and videos posted.

I doubt there's any embargo on the few owners so far though. The dealers would have to make them sign NDA's or something. Never heard anything like that happening on reviews posted by a private owner. I bet these owners so far are just too busy having fun with their new 4runners to write anything in depth yet.

Sweet ride! Could we get more underhood pictures? In that picture you had it looks a bit cramped. Just curous how much room there is to work under there. Thanks!

Here's a good look at the underhood on an SR5 with same gas iForce engine as the TRD Sport. This one also has third 3rd row seats.

That's standard procedure for any new vehicle launch, not just Toyota but all manufacturers. They hold the drive event for the automotive press, then give them a date/time when they can publish their review articles and videos. This only applies to the people who attended the press drive event, not to the whole world (like personal owners). It's just a weird situation with the 4runner because retail deliveries started before the press event embargo ends. It's usually the other way around.

Just watch this site on Tuesday morning. You'll see so many reviews being published at the same time when the embargo ends.
