Picking up my new 4runner this week and doing tires right away but not sure on sizing yet. I dont plan on doing a lift right away because im not sure I want that. Its an ORP and going with a set of TRD pro rims as well (PTR56-35242-F1), any advice on how big I can go for the tires? Dealer is telling me 265/70/18 is as big as I can go without rubbing but have read some things online saying I could do a 275.

Thanks!

Is that the PRO rims part number that comes with the 2025 4Runner TRD Pro trim? I looked it up and they look different.

The part number is for the TRD Flat Black Option wheels (NOT the TRD PRO wheels). I have both and you CAN put 285/70s on those wheels on TRD ORP - with just the removal of the crash plate in rear of front wheel well**, This wheel has +45 offset. The TRD PRO wheels has +20 offset and will rub on front felt and on air dam screw tab. I believe 275/70 will fit just fine on the TRD PRO wheel (which in my opinion looks just a bit better).
**might not rub on the crash plate - I’ve not tried to reinstall since switching from +20 to +45 offset wheels - but there is more clearance so maybe. I’ve got the OEM tires (265/70 Michelin’s) on the PRO wheels which I will run for long trips without off-road excursions because MPG/range MUCH better (>4 MPG) with the lighter tires.

If you're asking about the TRD Flat Black Option +45 wheels (not TRD PRO), I have an ORP with stock suspension (for now). Running five Toyo Open Country AT3 E-rated LT 275/70 R18. Not sure if a 285 in this tire would rub, but this Toyo 275 (33.2") appears to be the limit for stowing the spare without mods or deflating.

Check the actual diameter for the tires & sizes you are considering.

how do you like the Toyo's in 275/70R18, thinking of the same setup for my ORP w/2.5" lift.

We stayed with Toyo's due to past experience. We had Toyo OC AT3 LT 265/70 R17 E-rated on our previous 2020 Ford Ranger with a FP/Fox Leveling Kit. Minimal tire noise, a little heavy & clunky on street bumps compared to an SL. It's a truck. Performed well off-road while aired down.

So far the Toyo's on our ORP are great. Expecting similar experience as with our Ranger. They handle well on road (no off-road yet). Little noise. A bit less harsh on road seams than the OEM Falken's. Hoping to reduce the jarring seams even more with a new 2"/1" lift soon. We're averaging around 20.2 MPG.

Picked it up Wednesday with the KO3 tires installed. New wheels don’t arrive until next week but very happy with the tires so far!
