I am probably one of the oldest 2025 4Runner ORP owners on the forum at 76 years old. I don’t want to be “that old guy” with my turn signal blinking forever. I changed the volume on the turn signal to maximum with the Carista app and it is better, but not as loud as I would like it to be. Any thoughts on increasing the volume?

can you glance at the speedometer area once in a while and
check if the turn signal icon is blinking ?

personally i agree its a little low on volume at the highest setting.

but i changed the tap to signal from the default 3 to 7 and try to use that every chance i can.

now for pure left/right turns i use the full motion of the turn signal stalk and expect when i return the steering wheel to center to turn off the turn signal function as normal.

for lane change and minor turns i just use the the tap to turn function.

Thanks for the constructive suggestion. I'll try that. I also looked at the Sumaperformance replacement mirrors that have an illuminated arrow embedded in the glass to display the turn signal. Not sure if that would solve the problem, but definitely more visible than the arrows on the dashboard. I was hoping someone made a replacement turn signal flasher relay that was louder, but I haven’t found one.

to change the number of turn signal flashes from the default of 3 / 5 / 7

you will need carista or if the dealer is very nice they could do it free, but most just charge you a 30 min labor charge.

carista is cheaper for a 1 month sub and then canx it for like $15

So I checked Carista and I don't see how to change the volume of the turn signal clicking through the speakers. Maybe I could do that in another car I've recently owed, not sure, does anyone else know?

I have Carista and the turn signal volume is changeable under Lights/exterior/Turn signal click volume. Here is a screen shot.
I did change the volume to high, but for me, it is still not loud enough.

I thought of having the number of blinks changed from the default 3, but then I realized a problem--if I change my mind, for example start the decision, hit the blinker, then realize it is not safe), or just bump it unintentionally (no, I don't do that often at all!) then it keeps blinking when I really do not want it to blink. So, I have considered changing it so it does not have an automatic number. No vehicle I ever owned had this function anyway, and I am used to holding it in the temp position as long as I need (yes, I "click" it if I am actually turning). I have not changed it yet, and the default 3 is doable--just seems to short even for lane changes (not much warning for others, although so many folks just blink it once after they start changing lanes...). Something to consider.

you can cancel the push to turn signal by hitting the opposite push to turn signal direction.

i have mine set to 7 since i usually take my time switching lanes.

sometimes i have to cancel it because the person behind me is impatient (not like i cant be either at times)
