Has anyone come across a cargo cover panel that’s more like the rigid parcel shelf in a European SUV/hatchback, typically a molded fiberboard/composite panel with carpet on top, rather than the spring-loaded retractable shade?

I am looking for the functionality kinda like a wagon or hatchback of being able to use it like an upper deck or shelf and turn the lower part into more of a trunk.

while practical, its not without issues. putting a shelf that high up even with the headrests creates a safety issue in a panic stop. whatever is on that shelf is going to go flying forward and the head rest may not stop it from flying past them and toward the front seat passengers or 2nd row passengers.

personally i wouldnt put stuff on the shelf but if you use it to hide cargo thats a different story.

Safety first, love it. Nonetheless, trouble is I don’t think a product like this exists, just wondering if anyone has come across something I haven’t.

I am not familiar with such a product, but the safety concern can be mitigated by simply adding a front barrier to the shelf to keep stuff from sliding forward. Or even a mesh/bar/whatever sort of barrier much like a pet barrier.

Great point. And for any potential future responses I’m definitely not worried about the safety issue. 😆

the only thing i can think off right off the bat is the floor storage (if you dont have the hybrid) but that doesnt give you what you are looking for.

the closet i can find quickly is this ...

or this but limits the height of things to carry

or a full deck system but they can get spendy

this full deck system they have for all trims, hybrid, non hybrid and TH

I was going to post the Victory and the Decked as well.

I like the Victory because I can keep stuff our of the way for the dogs, and they only lose about 6" of height, and theyre still on the cargo floor so they can enjoy the back window being down.

I really like the Decked because of how much storage they have, but they sit so high and even if the dogs had room, I think it puts them too high in relation to the back window and cant have it down for them

These are great, thanks for taking the time to post the links. The molle panel shelf is probably the closest thing to what I had in mind. Much appreciated
