Hello there guys and some gals I’m sure. Took delivery of my new 2025 4Runner TRD Sport Premium non-hybrid on September 27, 2025. Traded in a 2023 4Runner Limited. My main reason was towing abilities. I am retired and fish a lot. My boat weighs around 3,400 pounds and even though that is under the 5K limit for the fifth Gen, it struggled quite a bit.

Great car for sure, just didn’t have the get up and go when I needed it. Even those this new Gen only increases by 1K pounds, it’s like day and night. I would have never believed that a 4 banger could be so quiet and have such pulling power as this vehicle does. I am genuinely impressed. I have driven nothing but Toyotas for 40 years now and dont plan on stopping.

Yes, new member here. Thank you for the welcomes! I just put a deposit down on a 2025 SR5 blk/blk 4runner and am very excited anticipating its arrival in early November. These vehicles are extremely hard to find, especially with option preferences.

Hello everyone from the flatland of West Texas. Thanks for the invite. Looking forward to getting immersed into the 4runner community.

This week I picked up a 2025 TRD Off-Road Premium. I am an absolute newbie as this is the first vehicle I have driven that is not a pickup in the last 35 years. So any tips, tricks, hints, etc. you guys can give me, best budget mods, and any other advice will be greatly welcomed.

Hello everyone — new member here! I’ve been lurking as a guest for a bit, trying to get a feel for things. I just placed my reservation for a Platinum, which should arrive before the end of the month. I’m very excited — this will be my first 4Runner.

I’ve owned a few vehicles both in and outside this class/segment, but never a Toyota. Currently, I have a 2023 Ford F-150 Tremor (which I plan to sell) and a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 (which I’ll keep). Previously, I owned a Bronco Badlands. I just love cars in general and want to “drive all the things.”

I’ve always liked the look of the 4Runner, but I felt the platform, engine, and technology were a bit long in the tooth — until this generation. I have regretted buying into the first of new generation with many cars, including the Bronco, so this is a big move for me.

While I really like the Trailhunter and lusted after it for a while, I’ll never truly use that level of capability, so I opted for the 95% use case. It’ll be a shared daily driver between my wife and me and it will see some gravel, sand and dirt 2-4x a year when I go camping.

Hello! Just joined. Current 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2 door 6MT owner. But now looking to get a 6G 4Runner as two failed cylinder heads in 100K miles has become a bridge too far for me! And yes, I maintained it perfectly using synth oil etc.
Anyway, not bagging on my Jeep just what happened. At this point I'd like a bigger four door SUV anyway as road trips w my two dogs, gf and luggage has become way too tight!
Thinking an ORP w regular engine would fit the bill!

Using this excellent site for info and resources to help w my final decision...

Hello! Thanks for the add. I’ve been lurking for a while to get ideas for our 4Runner and finally decided to join. We picked up our TRD ORP on July 11th.

We‘ve been driving Toyotas for quite a while so buying a new 6th gen was a no brainer. I drive a 2007 FJ Cruiser that I used to take off road quite a bit but lately it’s become a pavement queen.

We haven’t done much to the 4Runner so far, other than remove that ugly air dam under the front bumper, added a TRD skid plate and switched out the wheels for TRD Pro wheels with 275/70R18 Toyo Open Country R/T Trails.

A new member here, but I have been a Toyota owner all my life. I buy my vehicles new and keep them forever. Below is my stable . A 1998 manual transmission 3rd gen. 4Runner with 120k on it. Pretty much looks and runs like new, but at 27 years old I no longer dare to take it to areas with no phone signal or on rough trails. So I have put all seasons on it for local driving and decided to get a 2025 for the adventures.

On Sunday I brought home a spanking new TRD Off-Road. I have driven it only for a hundred miles or so, because I have spend most of my time reading the manual. It is bewilderingly complex. I feel like a time traveller from a distant past.

The '25 is a Behemoth. Significantly longer, wider, taller and heavier than the '98. The feature I miss on it the most so far is a moonroof - feels a bit dark inside. The feature I love the most - backup camera.

Next steps: Removing the rear seats. I like to sleep in the vehicle, plus I haul a lot of stuff. And take off that air dam or the first trail would take it off for me.

I wonder if it will last 27 years like the old one?

Hello Everyone, I just joined the forum, previously had a 2017 200 series LC for 9 happy years, hopping to make good use out this TRD off road for another decade.
First mod I did... remove the awkward looking front air dam.
Next... install the bash plates this weekend.

Congrats on your new purchase. Just bought my 3rd 4Runner, an Off Road Premium. My first was a 2000 SR5 and then jumped to a '14 SR5. Big difference in the drive but the 6th Gen feels much like the 3rd Gen. You'll get used to it quickly. BTW, I understand you have to invest in a Premium now to get the moonroof. Love to open the moonroof and back window to get a nice breeze without a lot of noise. Enjoy!!

Hi all, thanks for the add.

Recently early "retired" (not by choice) in August, and the likelihood of me finding work in my field at my age is slim to none, and Slim is off at a pool tournament. I find myself taking a hard look at the RHO, life, etc, and thinking a pivot is needed to a long term vehicle that is going to have longevity.

Of course that rapidly narrows down the brands. I have several friends with 4Runners, and I'd like to maintain off-road capability given the wife prefers crossovers at best, but I also love my gadgets.

I'm here to read and learn, see what people are enjoying about the platform and trim levels so far.
