Darn it! Drove my new 2025 4runner off-road Premium black in black on a 45 mile trip to go pick my mountain bike on a country road. Now, I have a small light stone chip on top end of my 2025 4runner off-road premium. I'm asking for some advice to look for a product that will get rid of that small stone chip. Anyone suggest an inexpensive product. Thanks.

I moved on lol😂

Honestly thats for the best. I had my TRD ORP ceramic coated yesterday. The guy works on all kinds of higher end vehicles, has some nice personal vehicles himself and I figured he could do a much better job of applying touch up paint than I could so I picked up the 8X0 touchup paint from Toyota and asked him to take care of this small chip in the paint.

Even with his expertise and experience it looked like ass and was far more noticeable than it was before.

I ended up lifting it off with my fingernail so it looks like it did before.

I honestly don't know if what he did was the best possible outcome or if he was just in a hurry to get the vehicle done and out but it I was surprised at the result.

I also suspect that applying touch up paint to chips on a vehicle that is other than white or black just isn't going to work period..

Yesterday I just said screw it and attempted to touch up the chip I had after removing the paint repair the ceramic coating guy did. it was so bad I don't know how that guy thought it would be acceptable.

Bottom line is less more I think. I took a toothpick, put some Toyota 8X0 on the end and just lightly dabbed it into the chip. It's not completely filled but the primer underneath the paint does not show up and now I have to hunt for the chip. it's not noticeable at all really unless you know where to work.

Thats the good news.

the bad news ?

There is what appears to be a decent scratch just to the right of the front bumper that wasn't there when I dropped it off for the ceramic coating. I'm pretty sure that scratch happened at that guys shop. I think it is just through the clear coat and not all the way through the paint and into the primer but it's pretty irritating to leave your vehicle with someone and have that happen.

Considering my vehicle is a daily driver and I have a 32-35 mile one way commute I am trying to forget about it but can't and will probably have it addressed by someone other than that ceramic coating guy.
