Today I’m going in for my 8000km service, which includes “free tire rotation, fluid top up and general inspection”. I’m paying for the oil change at this time, the first “free oil change” is at 16000km. My question is in the attached photo is this the best tire rotation diagram for me to request?? How is everyone else rotating their tires??

The reason I ask is because my spare is still the crappy LTX trail and I only swapped the 4 tires with K03’s. So the spare will not be in the tire rotation!! And also request to hand torque the lug nuts to 97ft-lbs.

I had the same question. Dealer stated front to back but no crossover. I found the same diagram online and told them to crossover.

While at the dealer waiting, I looked at the owners manual and found out Toyota recommends NO cross over.

So, I believe the diagram is not what Toyota recommend.

That is a tricky question. I would think if you are running in 2WD mode most the time front to back would be fine, but front left and back right and vice versa is what most folks do. I would think they would do that without you even asking.

Yep, I asked the dealer “during” the 4k service. The advisor said we do front to back, no crossover. In fact, he had his peeps redo the back to crossover for me. Then, while at the dealer, I looked it up in the manual which I believe is common across trims. I am pretty sure it states front to back only. I did not want to have the dealer do it again so I left them that way.

95% of my driving is 2WD. However, you think the manual would call out a different pattern for 4WD models.

now I need to go look it up again to be sure.

Pretty positive on my tire rotation they went front to back. And I think that’s the way they’re suppose to be done.
