Finally got around to setting up my 2025 SR5 4x4 for flat towing. Very easy process. After seeing the newer Tacomas doing it for the last couple of years or so I knew it wouldn’t be to much different.
I contacted Superior driveline who already had a driveline disconnect and driveshaft designed for the 6th gen. And I got the base plates and tow bar from Roadmaster that were for the new gen tacomas since it’s the same. (At least the SR5 4Runner, not sure about other models) It installed just like others have posted online for their tacomas. Very straightforward (The install shop takes the measurements for the drive shaft but it arrived slightly short so it needed to be lengthened by the install shop which took one day extra. Double check measurements!) We connected it to the Motorhome and it was good to go. E trailer sells the kit for everything. We towed with it a couple of times already with 0 issues. Super simple! The kit from e trailer and driveline disconnect can be ordered and had in a week. Install was a day. Very happy the way it came out.
