Hi all! Finally pulled the trigger and swapped out the Dunlops for a set of Bridgestone Ascent AT tires in 275x60/r20 (the other consideration was the Cooper Road & Trail). I was looking for an on road focused AT since it’ll spend most of its life there. But do encounter trail type conditions now and again here in Texas. Not to mention, It looks a whole lot better to my eyes. What do you think?

Couple things to note. The tire is nearly flush and doesn’t stick out in a way to make the mud flaps useless. It’s dead quiet on most surfaces but will produce an ever so slight hum when on rougher surfaces as expected from an AT. But it’s minute. Also, there is improvement in the ride over bumps and the steering is probably the most notable improvement. Being more direct. Pull all these things together and I’m glad I didn’t wait to make the change.

Side note. I’ve also installed PPF/ceramic, ceramic Tint (70%, 30%, 50%), WeatherTech wind deflectors, and 3wliners floor mats (which I’ve been very pleased with). No other plans at the moment but thinking I’ll add the Borla cat-back exhaust at some point. Had it on my 4cylinder 21 Ranger and Borla has figured out how to make four bangers sound pretty damn good.

Cheers!

good choice. for a daily city driver i usually suggest people go with defender ltx ms2, but if you want a highway centric a/t tire the ascent are very good with a/t looks but more highway manners.

personally i will be heading out friday to order some defender ltx ms2 for the 4R platinum for the oem wheels. after 5k miles i can no longer put up with the grandtrek pt5a's anymore.

It’s wild how much can go into deciding on a tire lol. But figured the street manners with some aggressive looks was the ticket. I did see that their are a lot of people who definitely like the LTX MS2.

Very nice! I got the same non hybrid. Making me reconsider level options as that looks great just tires and dropping the air dam.

Did the same, going around in my head to either pull the AVS or just roll with new tires. The decision was made harder since you can actually install the ReadyLift spacers (SKU: 66-54150) on the AVS without issue (hardware with install ~$800). Then I saw @BonRunner (think it was him) have a post just adding the 275x60/r20 tires, and like you, thought it looked great. So opted to go that route for now. In time I may still add the spacers but maybe it’s the snob in me that would rather do adjustable coilovers with upgraded UCAs when the time comes.

lol. exact same page and research done. Positive note, i think it will only look better if you throw that readylift kit on it with those tires. I've splurged on kings in the past and never really felt the value as much as a saw it with the blue in the wheel well. Probably won't do that here, but also kind of want to pretend we're getting something of value from the AVS... who knows, I'm sure more options will be available later this year and allow for more spending. Yours seems like the sweet spot right now though!

Exactly! Telling myself AVS is a big benefit…Although, only learned about AVS after purchasing 😆 So had no sway in my decision to go with the Limited. Agree though, adding 1” to the front would pair nicely with the setup as is with no need to upgrade tires again due to bigger wheel well gaps. Going to try and just enjoy my ride for now and maybe do something later. Likely add the Borla before any additional changes to the suspension. Well that and maybe a dash cover which add a couple horsepowers 😋
