Hi All -

Hood mounted ditch lights are new to me - I’m used to wranglers and broncos where they mount to the a pillar base. I pulled the lower windshield trim and it looks like there’s a fender bolt I could bracket off of pretty easily. Am I just being weird and hood mounted ditch lights actually make more sense for some reason?

Why do you not want to hood mount them? If you do otherwise you obviously need to make sure the hood does not interfere, but with hood mount by definition it will not be a problem. Also of course no modification required, and easy to install (well, I have some that I have yet to actually install, but it seems easy enough as you are just slipping it into existing bolts).

And yes, I understand I am not really answering your question!

Actually that helps a ton as a sanity check! I was probably over complicating things with an a pillar mount. Thanks!

I just installed these and I'm very happy with them, easy install. They also gave me a discount code.

That website is a bit confusing. At top, the choices lead me to believe that you are ordering a single light and bracket. Scroll down a bit and it has suggestions for adding raptor style lights and the a-pillar brackets.

Scroll down some more and you see "What's in the box:" which implies it is the full kit.

What did you specifically order to get the full kit?

I went rogue and mounted these to the fender bolt. Super easy. I just 3D printed a small spacer, drilled a small hole in the rubber trim, and replaced the factory bolt with a longer screw. Might drill the hole out larger and reprint a spacer with a top lip that would sit on top the rubber. Not sure if it’s worth the trouble. Hood clears and they feel rock solid.

Just wanted to confirm that there's now interference with the windshield wiper either?

No impact on the wipers! I ended up swapping to rough country cubes when I traded the 4R and they fit as well with no issues. I’m biased but preferred this over any of the other options out there.

I'm considering it, too, because I'm planning on installing hood struts, and they already have a bracket that mounts at the hinge location. I'm afraid of making a bracket sandwich with a bunch of mounts piled up.
