Day 1 parked beside the 2023 raised the tailgate and it touched the metal garage door upper frame. Put a very small cut in paint.

The appropriate 3 years the 2023 has been in both sides and pulled way in as well as just inside and never a problem.

This happened with the new one just pulled in. Found if pulled way in it had just a hair clearance.

You can adjust your liftgate stop height position:

1. Manually adjust the liftgate to the height position you want it to stop at (may require some effort)
2. Press and hold the liftgate close button until it beeps twice (2x).
3. Close the liftgate using the close button.
4. Open the liftgate using the button inside the cabin (it should now open to the new desired height)

Yup. I found out the hard way. Now I’m hoping that Toyota gets these parts into the market so I can get it repaired. Thankfully it’s just a plastic Toyota nameplate and hopefully it doesn’t cost very much.

You can adjust your liftgate stop height position:

1. Manually adjust the liftgate to the height position you want it to stop at (may require some effort)
You don't need to do this manually. Can just hit the button while it is going up or down to stop at whatever height you like. (manual (p 129 for Hybrid): "Pressing the switch while the power back door is opening/closing stops the operation. ")
And for reference the adjustment instructions are on p. 143: "The open position of the power back door can be adjusted. 1 Stop the back door in the desirable position. (P.129). 2 Press and hold the switch on the lower part of the back door for approximately 2 seconds.
When the settings are completed, the buzzer sounds 4 times.
When opening the back door the next time, the back door will stop at that position."
It goes on to say how to cancel the adjustment.

Posted on two sites. Two of us have scratches on our tailgate and hopefully catch a few reading this and save the trouble.
just ribbin ya, i kinda chuckled when i saw the same post on the other website.

but granted i started on the other website, but once i found this site, i primarily use this one and rarely post or visit the other one.

biggest + on this site, i can ignore a post/thread that i dont really care to follow. personally i think some posts/thread are just pointless since there is already 1-2 big threads about the same thing and a person cant spend the time to find it or read thru it and makes a whole new post/thread about the same thing that has been beaten into the ground already.
