The online OEM Toyota parts page did not require a VIN. You *can* put your vin in to see if parts fit, but wasn't a requirement (either don't put in your car details or "Remove" the car from the cart).
I did that last week and paid for it however a day after I received an email that I needed a VIN number, or the order will be canceled and money will be returned, trust me I done everything.

Can you select a different dealer? The US site lets me pick whatever dealer I want to order from.

They probably don’t want anyone that doesn’t have a Pro or TrailHunter getting those parts as to why you’re required a VIN# I think it’s like that in the States at some dealerships. Not all.
No VIN required when I bought Pro grill online from official Toyota parts website (US). If anyone is looking in the US for an easy dealer, Hendrick Toyota of Concord (NC). No questions, no emails, shipped out next day.

Bought mine from there too. Shipped out to Calgary and never asked a VIN
I didn’t put a VIN number however the next day I received an email saying that I needed a VIN number for this part or the order will be cancelled.

Interesting. Couldn’t you just pull one from the buying list on here
Someone here gave me a VIN number, I didn’t think about pulling one from the buying list? I went to a few dealership and talked to the parts guy and they all said exactly the same thing they wouldn’t be able to sell me one without a VIN number? One guy even told me that some dealers even asks for the owner of the vehicle to come and pick up the part with ID and the ownership of the vehicle? Whether this is true or not I’m not sure? But yes it’s hard to get one here in Canada, there’s websites in the USA that sells them the price is higher and shipping is very expensive and you have to pay customs as well, however it seems some people have better luck and were able to get one in different provinces.
