Those of you with the base audio system who have replaced your dash speakers, have you encountered any issues with the speakers shutting down? I found that the door speakers are 4 ohm and the dash are 8. Also apparently somewhere along the way Toyota changed the harness so the dash are only 2 pin connectors. Some of the 4th gen Tacomas and previous gen 4Runners were 4 pin connectors and had 4 wires.
Reading on the Tacoma pages I’ve heard of some people having the audio shut down and this may be why, because if you were to just replace the 8 ohm speakers with a 4 ohm the amp would try to double its output and go into protect mode. Trying to research this as it looks like there is some sort of box behind the dash that goes to the speakers and then to the small amp under the drivers seat
