Yep. I think the full guards would be more suitable for a lifted ride with larger tires IMHO.

Was everyone that has done this able to install them without removing the tires?
I would really rather not have the hassle of doing so.

I can only speak to the OEM mud guards, but they were a pain in the ass to install with tires on. You have to drill a few holes. I just barely pulled it off with a 90* adapter with the stock tires. Now I up-sized to 275/70/18 and I don't think I'd have room without removing the rear tires.

For most people with bigger tires and lifts, it's all about ground clearance. The mid size is still a good compromise because the taller, full length will pose a problem when hitting objects. I know they have a little bit of give and bendability, but my research shows they're still pretty stiff.

They're pretty stiff as you have to bend some angles on them when installing. The shorter the material, the harder it is to bend. I think the full guards should bend easier because of their length whereas something like micros won't.

I installed the rears without drilling. There's three holes, two of which would be there if you were swapping out the OEM guards. The third requires you to drill a hole. I didn't drill anything for the rears and currently driving them just fine for on road use. They're held in place with just push clips anyway. The front guards don't require any drilling at all.

Edit: Here's the rear installed without drilling and utilizing the 3 holes for the push clips.

I ordered & installed the TRD Pro Mud flaps on my ORP. I think they look a lot better than those ARK's. No rubbing on the front at all with +20 offset & 275's

How much wider is the pro version? I have the regular width and they don’t stop gravel from flinging up onto the side panels (even with sliders/steps) due to inadequate width. They also hang a bit low and have scraped objects off road.

I’m about to install Ark mids today. I actually ordered regular length (matches oem mud guard) and also the mid.

The pro version is wider by an 1"-1/2 or so. They are made to acommodate the +20 wheel offset. If anyone decides to switch to the pro version mud flaps , I suggest getting the installation instructions from the dealer or an on-line resource

I swapped the OEM (regular width) mud guards for the Ark Mid. Very happy with the look and wider, higher coverage.

Roughly 2” shorter than OEM so better ground clearance.

I also gained roughly 1” of inner fender clearance with the 275/70/18 tires after removing the Toyota mud guards.

The full length version isn’t practical for off-road although I might keep the second pair I bought and swap them in winter when traveling north to salty roads.

Did the holes line up OK?

Thinking of swapping mine as well for the extra clearance.

The fronts are rubbing gently on the 275/70-18 tires since it has that little protrusion

.
