Adding Parking Sensors - SR5

Hi guys!

I just bought a new SR5 4WD, and realized it didn’t came with parking sensors. It’s a big car, and my wife was used to park our old 2019 Land Cruiser with this extra help, and now wants to kill me! Is there any way to add them to the SR5? Are they available as aftermarket equipment? I asked the local dealer where I bought it and they said the option isn’t available from Toyota yet.

Hello!
Parking sensors can be installed as an optional accessory even if they don’t come from the factory. You can check with other auto service centers. and car accessories can be ordered here with logistics calculation
But such an installation might affect the warranty.

That's interesting... I don't see any sonar sensors in the rear, but my SR5 still does warn of obstructions when backing up somehow. Nothing for forward though, just the long range radar for the cruise control and crash avoidance, does nothing when parking and inching up to a wall or another car in front.

Using the blind spot sensors maybe?

Parking sensors would warn you while backing up as an object gets closer. What you speak of is another sensor to detects vehicles or people when backing up.

There are lots of aftermarket options, and installers. Dealers install them all the time, or should I say, they have an offsite installer in their area do it.
