TLDW; my take below

SR5 : bare bones entry level (best for those that will spend 15-20K on off roading hardware to surpass TH/Pro abilities without ripping out hardware) (i dont suggest this trim for those new to 4Runners unless you are really tight for cost, most SR5 are around 45k on avg for options and out the door pricing)

TRD : (sport/off road/sport prem/off road prem) best bang for the buck trims, middle the of the road for cost/features (best for entry into the 4Runner ecosystem) (start around 50-58k depending on options)

Limited/Platinum : luxury and trivial luxury over a limited (pavement princess trims mostly) (60-68k depending on options)

TH/Pro : turn key minor/medium off road trims (for those that want an easy low cost entry to low level 1-2 off roading without doing the research to upgrade an SR5 correctly) (68-72k depending on options)

hybrid vs gas : only get the hybrid if you intend to regularly tow with the 4R, otherwise save your money (except those trims that only come in hybrid (platinum, TH/Pro) hybrid will add roughly 2800 to your gas version price)

just note the LC250 (depending on typical options) will be in 65-72k range

gx550 that is comparable is going to be pushing 75-82k

you could go with a lower trim gx550 but you will lose a lot of options you could have on the 4R that do no exist period with the gx550 entry level trim.
