  • 17" Fuel Off-Road Cycle wheels +34 mm offset

One of the best parts about these new Toyotas is you are able to fit a much bigger tire with very little work. Some slight trimming of plastics and gutting the wheel wells, you can fit 35s without issue.

This is fascinating, just put 285/75/18s (34.8" x 11.2") on my TRD Pro with stock rims and they hit the frame crash plate on the frame behind the front tire before full lock. I'll remove the crash plate this week and see if any other issues pop up.

Any other issues? Looking at that size for my Trailhunter.

My direct experience with 285/75R18s is on my TRD ORP - but might help you decide. Here are a couple of related writeups (each specific to the thread they are in). (Note: you might search the forum for 285/75R18 and find a bunch more examples)
Some thoughts on 35" Toyos off-road
fitting 35s

Bottom line: I THINK you will be fine with the crash bracket removed (per comment above). Your THunter has wider fender flares so the issue I had with 285/75 on the +20 offset TRD PRO wheels rubbing fender flare at upward articulation should be alleviated. And your shocks are (I think) about 1/2" to 1" longer under normal curb load than mine so you may not have the (slight) rear tire rub at top of rear wheel well felt that I have. I might end up putting on the Old Emu kit and a bump stop to get past this but its not been a problem off road. (I did a black trail this past weekend).

But the milage hit is real. My 285/75R18 Toyo A/T III's are 67# according to Toyo - vs. my 37# stock Michelin LTx Trails. I've documented the difference as ~4 MPG. (detailed data in the Hybrid milage thread).
If you are doing this to make your THunter more capable for real rock crawling I say: Go For It! (but if its for looks - find the biggest SL all terrain you can and keep the milage up).

Sick wheels, but can only find them with a +25 offset for our truck...you sure they're +34?
