Yes I would be curious too as well. It appears to me would be a narrower 285 with a lower aspect ratio, if this makes sense. I've seen this on other tires going from a 70 aspect ratio to a 65 and the tire manufacturer did compensate for the width of the tire as well as the aspect ratio.
I think a good tire shop would be able to take each tire and give you a look in comparison.
I also like a narrower taller tire for off-road Trail use.
Getting to destinations require a lot of Highway slab pounding and I'm kind of done with wide fat heavy tires. Yeah they look cool but it gets old. Just my two cents again.
