2026 Limited front end mods

New 4Runner owner (15-year FJ owner). I'm looking to remove the chin spoiler (a/k/a air dam - don't care for the look and worried I'll damage it) and replace with a skid plate, any recommendations (or concerns)? Also looking to protect the paint on the hood, the FJ has extensive damage from rock strikes. If anyone has done this, what product did you use? Was it DIY, body shop or someone else and what is a fair price for this?

I got Rival 4x4 skids. Great price and no need to remove to do an oil change. I just did one!

Interesting, it looks like they’ve changed the design of the engine skid. When I bought it a few months back it looked like this:

in any case, I think the new designs has the provisions for the filter and the drain plug access without removal as well

When you take the chin spoiler off, put the bolts back in or you'll lose the nut clips.
