I am vacillating back-and-forth between powder coating my current stock alloy rims for my 4Runner Limited to a black gloss like what is on a Platinum. Does anybody have any thoughts if you’ve done it and roughly what it might cost to do so? TIA.

Personally I prefer the silver color anyway, and I would never pay much--let alone that much--just for aesthetics (even if I did prefer black). Of course that is all just my personal opinion, what is important is what you prefer!

Yes, I decided to leave it alone at this point. I like the way it looks. Going through a powder coating and some of the downside issues by Doing it.

i would say look for someone replacing the oem wheels with aftermarkets for sale.

then kep the originals for winters and the blacks for summer

i am contemplating taking the 23 tundra platinum wheels and putting them on the platinum 4R (they are just sitting in the shed anyway).

not sure i like the gloss blacks vs the tundra platinum grey wheels.
