  1. 6th gen owners - why did you jump on a year 1 model of the refresh?

To answer the original question.... My 2003 Sequoia was getting long in the tooth (296k miles) and I decided back before its 20th birthday when the new Gen6 was announced as coming as a 24 model that I would make the jump. My previous vehicle was a 1990 Gen2 4Runner (standard transmission) that...
  2. Can you add an Auxiliary Alternator to the iForce MAX Hybrid?

Thanks for the photo-yep, there it is. I got it at Koons - Tysons. About 10 minutes away. Was ready to buy a non Hybrid from Orusman but they would not budge off of dealer premium so found the same exact car coming to Koon’s in 6 weeks. Put a deposit down for MSRP but the salesman (that I liked...
  3. Can you add an Auxiliary Alternator to the iForce MAX Hybrid?

FWIW my ORP has both the tow package and the aux switches (only other optional item is the moonroof). I knew I wanted the tow package and moon roof. Didn’t know I wanted the aux switches but now that I have them I’m looking to add some lights or something that takes advantage of it. But if...
  4. Tire Recommendations for factory 18" wheels (TRD Off-Road Premium)

Boba: Based on everything I've seen, I'll bet (and am hoping) that on the +55 offset wheels these 285's worked fine - but its been a few weeks: is my bet correct? Did you look at the clearance at full droop and compression and all steering angles to be sure? I'm headed down this path with +45...
  5. "Fixed running boards"

Great Info. Thanks for the correction. Now I guess we need to still help the OP find the P/N for the originals. Guess I'll crawl underneath and look for a P/N if I remember....
  6. Hybrid Real World MPG (iForce Max) - post your model, specs, general driving conditions, results:

Sorry Papa but I'm confused by this answer: either you made a math adjustment from your odometer and speedometer or it can't account for the difference (unless you made an adjustment to the computer that is counting the revolutions and converting that to distance and speed - which would be very...
  7. Hybrid Real World MPG (iForce Max) - post your model, specs, general driving conditions, results:

Pappa: as I plan my move to 285s I'm wondering what sort of impact to expect. So, just to make sure I know what you are experiencing: Does the 17.1 account for the ~5% lower miles/mph being displayed on odometer/speedometer for your 295s?
  8. Air Dam Removal Issues w/ debris or wind getting into the components?

Interesting dilemma. I took the photo below after removing mine to go offroading and it sort of shows what I recalled - no obvious gap. But that is with the OEM plastic/fiber skid plate still intact (and I assume when I replace that with the Land Cruiser skid it will connect in the exact same...
  9. "Fixed running boards"

I'm not 100% certain but believe these are the standard boards that come on ORP and can be optioned on SR5 and others: PT767-89250: Cast Aluminum Running Boards (Black). These are shown in an early post in this thread - the photo there (and here: Cast Aluminum Running Boards - Black - Toyota...
  10. Red & Yellow dots on front springs - Anyone know what they mean?

Nodak - your collection of Toyota arcana is astounding. Are/were you a Toyota tech? Anyway - the (partial) answer is, for my TRD ORP the passenger side front spring has same red/yellow markings as the driver’s side. (I forgot to check the rear.)
  11. AC always on

Thanks! I missed the footnote in section 2.2, p. 55 of the multimedia manual: "Vehicle customize (1)... (1)refer to vehicle "OWNER'S MANUAL". D'OH. In Owner's Manual its in section 8.2 Customization in the table of "Customizable Features." labeled "Automatic air conditioning system". Default...
  12. AC always on

I am positive that when I turn my AC off (when opening all the windows to enjoy nice temps outside) that it stays off - I need to turn it on the next time I start if I want AC/heat. But I wanted to find the setting so searched the multimedia manual and cannot find such a setting. Can anyone...
  13. 285/70/18 tires on TRD Pro (stock, no lift) looks perfect

And Tinkerer's Adventure comes through. For anyone who has the same confusion as me, check out "Motion Ratio" at 4:40 in this video: Everything About Toyota IFS | Suspension Construction and Limits | Part 1. NOW I get it. (And yea, quoting myself is kind of weird but hopefully helpful to others)
  14. 285/70/18 tires on TRD Pro (stock, no lift) looks perfect

Just confirming that this is the spacer you have: 2024-landcruiser-3-4-leveling-kit. Doesn't show up on the Greenlane site when searching on 6th Gen 4Runner parts but found it by searching for 4th Gen Taco (and labeled for landcruiser). This is my kind of modest leveling (3/8" spacer) -...
  15. 285/70/18 tires on TRD Pro (stock, no lift) looks perfect

I've composed a new thread in the suspension forum - hope to get some education on what it really is - but control arms seem like a pertinent factor. Thanks
  16. 285/70/18 tires on TRD Pro (stock, no lift) looks perfect

Thanks Ruts - much appreciate the confirmation that it will work. Guess I could add the spacer if needed (that spacer size (.75") is perfect). And the tire choice is one I've been considering. Looks great. Thanks again.
  17. Real/Practical Differences between TRD OR and PRO/TH Suspensions re: Fitting Larger Tires

There are a ton of examples on this site where folks have put 285/70R18s on TRD PRO and Trailhunter, but fewer clear examples for the same tire on TRD Off-road (Premium or not). The stock tires for these 4 trims are different brands but same size: 265/70R18. The stock wheels have different...
  18. 285/70/18 tires on TRD Pro (stock, no lift) looks perfect

Thanks Bob. That is the site I was using to quote the numbers in my post above: "From Toyota site specs: Overall height (does not include roof rails or roof rack) : ORP iForceMax: 73.6" TRD Pro & Trailhunter: 74" " Specs also available here: 2025 4Runner Specs Product Info Not really sure why...
  19. Crossbar wind noise?

FWIW: I popped off the passenger side front cover to find this "front" label that I clearly thought meant that (beveled/lipless) edge went to the front. And the cover has the RH inside - which made sense to me as being the passenger side. So I continue to think that what I did makes sense...
