Since they are both described above and I happened to have both shipped to me (error on the part of the supplier (Nucar)), here is a comparison between the LC and TH skids. The straight vs beveled front edge did not seem to matter to fitment.
And mine on TRD ORP:
Before: stock tires & wheels (18x7.5, +55) & suspension: Front: ~3.8"; Rear; Rear: ~5.3"
After: Toyo A/T III 285/70R18, TRD PRO wheels (18x8.5, +20), Peak 1.25" level: Front: 3.5"; Rear: 4.5"
I guess the .8" difference in the rear is close enough to half the increase in...
I have the Landcruiser skid ("TOYOTA" vs "TRAILHUNTER") that I installed a week ago. The area you circled is a lift point - those bolts to the left and right are directly into the frame cross piece behind the filter - it is not a cutout. I sure hope its meant as a lift point because that is...
I'm really enjoying my TRD ORP (hybrid). But with all the mods I've made I would have been better going with the Pro or T-Hunter. I didn't think I'd suddenly be so into off-roading but it happened... so now I'm looking for rock rails and integrated compressor - both things that are included on...
Now that I've run several tanks with bigger tires I'm ready to summarize my data.
Bottom line:
Before: TRD ORP: OEM wheels/tires/air dam; normal mode; 80% hgwy (by distance); 39# pressure (except offroad); 93 Octane: 22.3 MPG. (average of 7 Tanks with those conditions)
After: TRD ORP: TRD...
Cory/Anyone: Were you able to find and install the Trailhunter integrated compressor and confirm that any of these many part numbers are correct? I'm yet again getting ready to go off-roading (and airing down) and hate to think I need to hunt for a gas station with air before I get back on the...
Thanks for the video. Helped a lot. I was able to reinstall the "inner" crash plate on top of the ARK crash plate delete - my rubbing was only with the "outer" one immediately behind the tires. Sadly for ARK the logo gets somewhat covered up:>) Does not fit perfectly (liner had to be folded...
The TRD Off-road (premium or not) has the Bilstein shock - different than all the other trims. I don't know the Bilstein PN but you can see the Toyota PN on the shock. TRD OR shock
Check tire pressure re: bounciness. Makes a huge difference. (I found 39# to be sweet spot between bounciness and...
Thought this was such a cool idea that I did it. Got the LC skid last week and put it on last night. Picked up some Heritage Blue touch up paint from a local dealer.
I did not reinstall the air dam in part because my 285/70R18s rub on the last inside connection point which I have bent back to...
Nope. The school zone warning absolutely appears for me using android auto and google maps. Hasn't really bothered me that much. And does not appear for me on neighborhood roads near home (I live very close to an elementary and high school), but does appear whenever I'm on a state road going...
Cool video. Looks like stock ORP wheels. Stock tires too?
It looks like you were on the brake a lot on that downhill through the moguls - I wonder how the lowest setting of CRAWL would have handled it. (I've used crawl on somewhat similar terrain and its .... kinda cool and fun)
I'll be installing the front crash bracket delete covers from Ark this weekend (TRD ORP rub with 285/70R18 tires) - but what is the purpose of the rear splash guards? Is it to prevent mud from working its way in to some opening in the wheel well? I'm guessing maybe it blocks that opening above...
I'm jealous and a bit surprised that the 34.1" (per falken web site) 285/75r17 fit but my 33.7" Toyo 285/70R18 do not: definite rub both on crash plate and front felt. This is with +20 offset TRD PRO wheels on my ORP. Hard to believe that 10mm offset would make that much difference but...
I just put 285/70R18 Toyo Open Country tires on my ORP with TRD Pro wheels - have rub that I will be working on and posting elsewhere, but thought it was time for an update here before reporting the impact of the new tires.
Data for stock OEM wheels & tires; normal mode; with air dam (except...
It's very close.
I'm going to take a rasp/file to the lower corner to ensure the air dam is not an issue. Unfortunately I have some other rubbing to deal with. At least it looks good 😅
I’m with Baku - same exact approach and perspectives. Have and will be removing for off-road trips and replacing for daily driving MPGS. Unless the 285s I’m having put on today rub air dam - then it will be gone.
