Considering we're looking at a March 2025 or later release date for the 6th gen 4Runner, none of us will be able to place an order / purchase before January 2025.
Did some searching on Tacoma4g and here were those dates:
November 23, 2023 -- First 2024 Tacoma reviews were posted
January 27, 2024 -- First reported customer delivery
So about 2 months from when first drive reviews were posted and delivery began for the new Tacoma.

Yea seems to be a lull before the next teaser or info from Toyota. But I bet they keep showing 4Runners are various shows and events like they did with the Tacoma launch. Meanwhile I’ll revisit the color and trim renderings here and imagine my 6th gen build :)

Saw this resonator delete on the 2024 Tacoma. Obviously same benefits for the 4Runner of improved sound (subjective to listener of course) and making room for a larger full size spare tire.
I think it's a good bet Toyota will have the 6th gen 4Runner at Overland Expo. The new Tacoma was at all the Overland Expos last year after its reveal.

14x1.5 (different than 5th gen's 12x1.5)
Hub Bore / Center Bore:
95.1 (different than 5th gen's 106.1)

Yea that makes sense. When you mentioned "order" he probably started thinking about the formal order submission process. Which doesn't come until later when a 4runner matching your desired specs is coming into this dealer, is offered to you, and you accept and submit the order for it.
So yea...
Just show him this list and how other dealers are taking $500-$1000 deposits from interested customers to get on the dealer's waitlist for the new 4Runner. And ask him to do the same thing. Although if he's that clueless, maybe you wanna look elsewhere. ?
And another option -- rear view camera mounted on the rear spoiler. Should be possible on the 6th gen 4Runner's rear spoiler too.

As I read @ggrant20's post in another thread about the 2025 4Runner Trailhunter OME Old Man Emu suspension and the TRD Pro Fox suspension, both which give them about 2" inches lift, it got me thinking ahead about lift kits...
There'll be plenty of aftermarket lift kits and level kits available...
