  1. Rival 4x4 skid plates (transmission & transfer case) installed

Thanks for sharing & explaining so well! I also bought the bundle during the Memorial Day sale. I too am awaiting the arrival of my engine skid plate. I live about 40 minutes from the warehouse @RIVAL 4x4 uses so I elected to go pick it up rather than have it delivered. The staff there (not...
  2. Side storage case (for side dash cubby)

Ahhh, I see. I hope you get the other pieces or your money back.
  3. Side storage case (for side dash cubby)

Not being sarcastic at all but what am I missing here? I'm not seeing what it does or the purpose of it. Could you provide some insight about it?
  4. First oil change at 500 miles

Break in oil is old school from back before full synthetic became the accepted norm. People can maintain their vehicles how they choose to but to say that new engines or even remanufactured engines don't produce wear metal shavings & debris is a far stretch. Every new or reman engine will...
  5. OEM Illuminated Front Emblem: Dark Chrome w/ Light Up LED installed [+ part number / price]

I just received this same illuminated logo & I'm looking forward to installing it. Looks awesome! I do wish it was not a “3D” style though because it's not PPF friendly as it is.
  6. Visual reminder to oil change during break in (at 1000 miles)

I say good on them for wanting to do it at 5k for you. Many don't want to until 10k. It shouldn't affect your warranty if you choose to not let them change it as long as you are keeping records of what products you used & when you changed the oil. You have a right by law to service & maintain...
  7. Visual reminder to oil change during break in (at 1000 miles)

My 1st change is getting done at about 300 miles & I'm exclusively using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum with a CarQuest Premium oil filter moving forward. Next oil & filter change at 500-600 miles, then 1k miles, then 2.5 k miles, then 4k miles & then every 4k miles until it croaks. Air filter changes...
  8. Torque Specs for OE Toyota Roof Rails?

No, that wasn't me. But could you please send me that PDF? After posting earlier today, I found a parts dept. guy that very kindly went into the Technician's data programs & found installation instructions with torque specs for the roof rails (actually called “roof rack”). It states 7 ft. lbs...
  9. Visual reminder to oil change during break in (at 1000 miles)

You have to remember that this new 4Runners' engines have turbos now. Those turbos run incredible hot which in turn naturally makes the oil hotter than it would get in a naturally aspirated engine. The oil is not only lubricating the engine but also functions as a cooling fluid as well. Turbos...
  10. Torque Specs for OE Toyota Roof Rails?

Greetings all, âť” Does anyone have the official Toyota installation instructions for the factory installed Roof Rails (not the cross bars)? More specifically I need the torque specification for the hardware that secures the Roof Rails to the roof itself. I want to provide it to my PPF installer...
  11. Visual reminder to oil change during break in (at 1000 miles)

I'd go in & tell them you have been driving under severe conditions & the maintence schedule requires an oil change at 5k miles. It should be free under Toyota Care in my opinion.
  12. Visual reminder to oil change during break in (at 1000 miles)

Th That sounds about right for most service depts.. Most will take your money if willing to pay it & withhold the free oil changes until Toyota says it's due under their service plan.
  13. Recommendations for vehicle covers.

Thanks! ?? âť” What's your thoughts on it so far? âť” Does it fit snugly or loosely? âť” Have you noticed any chance of the zippers doing any damage to the vehicle? âť” Is there a way to somehow lock the zipper ends so no one can easily unzip it?
  14. Recommendations for vehicle covers.

Greetings all, I'm seeking recommendations for high quality vehicle covers for my '25 4Runner. I live in an apartment & want to keep it covered to protect from the sun, elements & from curious lookers especially while I'm using my '03 Tundra for work days. I do have an assigned covered parking...
  15. Visual reminder to oil change during break in (at 1000 miles)

Okay okay, perhaps I exaggerated a bit. ? A more realistic expectation for the life span of the turbos might be 100k-150k depending on how hard you are on it & if it is properly cared for. But they can last a long while when cared for properly IMO. Although the owners manual states only regular...
  16. Visual reminder to oil change during break in (at 1000 miles)

Same here. I think a lot of people are making too much fuss about the Turbo 4 cylinder engine. Yes, the turbo will give up the ghost at some point but if it's cared for & driven reasonably then I think it can last upwards of 150k-200k miles. Early & often oil changes with new air filters at...
  17. Visual reminder to oil change during break in (at 1000 miles)

That's what this website was created for. Glad to help! ? I'd also recommend consuming as many YouTube videos from The Car Care Nut as possible. I follow his advice closely & almost always without question. He knows his stuff!
