Seems my last post was deleted! Apparently my post was considered "ThreadCrapping".
My comment was “ I will pass, way too costly, not competitive”. Might be better for those who off-road. Cost should be in the $160 ballpark. They also look a bit “home made” and not sure the shiny material...
For road only, no off-road, would I feed a difference in terms of smoother ride over bumps and potholes. Base vehicle is a 4R6G SR5. For the cost, I would need it to be remarkably different.
Actually, its not too bad now.
Looks like I am buying just the rod end of the lock which should use the same lock I have now.
i ordered it and should receive it Friday.
I want to test fit the rack, bikes, tilting, etc. its been a while since I mounted it. Hopefully I will have access to the cargo area without an extended...
I guess that's good, maybe but keeps you guessing. Just because others have it, I hope the dealer does not clarify it as normal. They should have a way to channel that concern back to Toyota. Also, they should be able to get information on what subsystem is causing it.
I hate leaving things...
Great info. I found when purchasing accessories, they were far from helpful. I am checking my lock now but I beleive I am in the same situation.
I also have all my locks using the same key. I bet they will not do that on the nee lock.
I have the longer locks designed for securing bike to frame I wonder if 1up will do a slightly longer for the Toyota. Seems like a hitch would be a standard size snd if so, Toyota went non-standard.
With my AC on, i can tell the engine RPM change. Not even looking for a change, I can hear and feel a “stutter”. I wouks expect not to experience that on a “variable” compressor.
I thought the Toyota Care was the basic maintenance they include (Oil/Filter, Tire Rotation) for two years. Then the warranty is 3 years or 36K, and 60 months Powertrain.
Maybe the Toyota offering not only does repairs out of warranty but also includes basic services?
Sadly, the "included"...
Assuming driving on road and wanting the best, smoothest ride, I would suggest the limited would be best. I through it had the Adaptive ride option. That with street tires "should" be better but, it they have also put large rims on the limited, all bets are off.
I originally was looking at and...
Are you saying the hitch is wider than standard, not allowing the weird and not very secure 1UP locks to work?
Picture 3 seems to look like it works.
I have never liked the 1up lock. Rack is good. Always been tempted to drill through the hitch and 1up for a real lock.
For a crazy point of reference, I paid $2300 in 2014 for a 7 yr, 125k warranty. I used it once for a $140 fuel tube leak. Cost me $50 deductible. A complete waste of money.
Save and invest your own money during the warranty years, Then, use it as needed
Toyota seems to sell on its reliable...
SR5. 234 miles on the truck. Todays test was about 80 miles, in town, slow speed stop and start. Then Interstate and 15 miles up a large grade. More in city traffic, then 10 mile detour up a small mountain. Lastly, returning back with 30 minutes of stop start traffic. Average at 22.7.

I just picked my 4R SR5 up 10 days ago it has Bridgestone (made in Japan). The tire model is a goofy name, “Dueler HL 422 plus”. I have no clue on how good these tires are. My goal is comfort ride across crappy roads ans potholes.
They are 245/70/17.
I was expecting Yokohama.
I am somewhat...
