  1. Air Dam falling off at highway speeds, 89 miles on odometer

I am interested in the breaking point. Is it at the point the bracket is screwed in and maybe caused by over torquing the screw or was it the bracket failing due to stress? I would definitely take to the dealer. I was planning on keeping mine on. I am in the minority not doing off-road or...
  2. Fault Codes on new 4Runner - Carista Questions

Response from Carista. Their website and the app only list the 2024 5th gen as supported. Either they have not updated the list or they are feeding me a line! Thank you for reaching out! Please attempt to reset the fault codes and inform us if they clear or if any remain. Your vehicle (2025...
  3. Air Dam falling off at highway speeds, 89 miles on odometer

Are the screws still in place or missing?
  4. Air Dam falling off at highway speeds, 89 miles on odometer

Any evidence that screws were missed, came loose or?? I checked mine tonight and found all tight except for one slightly loose. I retightened.
  5. Whistling noise after front air dam removal: final verdict?

Same questions here but also going to check the screws holding it on based on the reports of it coming loose and damaging the paint.
  6. Q for owners: do you have lots of play at top/back of rear doors and vent windows (triangle pieces)?

So the term "play" you using for the small vent windows is the movement up/down/side to side in the frame and/or in and out when pressing on it. Based on that, I went looking for problems...... I checked both sides and found the small windows on each rear door to move in the frame. It does not...
  7. Q for owners: do you have lots of play at top/back of rear doors and vent windows (triangle pieces)?

When you say “play” do you mean movement, like the door is loose on the hinge? Or are you referring to a gap? I am happy to look once I understand.
  8. Fault Codes on new 4Runner - Carista Questions

@Hobbs3s: Thanks for confirming you had the same, cleared them and no return. You would think that Toyota or the dealer would do that before they sell a new vehicle. It would be nice to see a time and date stamp on all error codes. Oh well. Stepping down from the ledge and will clear the...
  9. Fault Codes on new 4Runner - Carista Questions

Thanks. I was aware of perm codes from another vehicle and how they clear themselves if the root cause is fixed. On a Ford, it took 50 plus miles of mixed driving.
  10. Fault Codes on new 4Runner - Carista Questions

Only got 95 miles on it so, self learning or self fixing is a possibility, I guess. It would be great to find someone with carista and 2025 SR5 to run a diagnostic and compare.
  11. Fault Codes on new 4Runner - Carista Questions

This really leads to another question on if Carista is a viable product for the 4R6G yet. I purchased a year of functionality based solely on forum recommendations but I failed to check the supported vehicle list. I wonder if I can pause or get a refund on the years subscription. I have emailed...
  12. Drawback to me

I am 5’6” and feel the same. It was a compromise. As stated in another thread, its tricky getting in and out. I did look at the Sequoya but, the cost did not make sense in that segment.
  13. Cyclical squealing / squeaking sound from front differential. Fix = debris removed & seals replaced

Got ya. I still need to test my 4wd modes and run them every few months.
  14. Fault Codes on new 4Runner - Carista Questions

No engine light, running very well.
  15. Cyclical squealing / squeaking sound from front differential. Fix = debris removed & seals replaced

I think I'd be asking for a little more detail on the service report.
  16. Fault Codes on new 4Runner - Carista Questions

If anyone has the Carista Eco scanner and app and can run a report on a new 2025 4R SR5, I'd be very interested in the results. Thanks in advance....
  17. Cyclical squealing / squeaking sound from front differential. Fix = debris removed & seals replaced

So, If I understand your description correctly, it's only happening in in 4WD Low? Not happening in 2H or 4H? I need to go test my 4WD ASAP.
  18. Observations after 2,000 miles

Let us know how the fit and quality is. I assume all push pin connectors and hope they are included. Fire resistant?
  19. Fault Codes on new 4Runner - Carista Questions

3 days old, starts fine. 12.5 volts when sitting without engine running and accessory mode on. I will monitor. I usually connect any of my vehicles to a battery tender when not expexting to use for a few days.
  20. Fault Codes on new 4Runner - Carista Questions

I was at 17 miles until today. Now at a whopping 78 miles driving carefully to break-in the engine. I repurchased Carista knowing I may want to check codes, customize features, etc. I used it on another vehicle a few weeks ago and it's pretty slick. I previously had a tool for VW's that was way...
