Well, I went to Montreal Canada with the TH. (From USA). The next day I had my 10K maintenance (2nd oil change) But my side mirror was freaking out (it would toc, toc, toc, when going in reverse. It was basically stuck.

I told the dealership, they said they'd have a look during the oil change.

They came back to me with a weird face. "Did you install a tracking device on your vehicle?"

I shook my head. "This was jamming your mirror" He gave me a little life360 bluetooth tracker. He advised me to go to the police with it. (Which I did, and they told me they would simply throw it away, wow) So I spent the day in Montreal, but thankfully never had the TH out of my sight. (or 1 hour or so) But I wasn't paranoid or anything, it just happened that way.

Soooo If I spent the night in Montreal (which I didn't) Something tells me the TH would be gone... They would track it with this thing, and figure out how to snag it while I'm sleeping.

So I have out of state travel plan, I'll bring this little nugget with me, and let them chase it. (Right now it's in foil waiting)

So guys be careful out there... I bought a bluetooth tracker detector.

it might be the dealer installed one. they tend to install them in case someone during a test drive or over night steal a vehicle. also used for lease vehicles to track them in case they forget to make payments.

i see them being forgot more than being removed before sale.

Well... The dealership wouldn't have told me to go to the police with it if that was the case...

And usually the dealerships ones are plugged into the ODBII port. (I checked, nothing there)
It was definitely not dealer installed, it was dropped in there from the side hidden from the street and it stopped the mirror from working properly (That's how I know exactly when it was put in there, I just didn't know it was that, that broke it.

Also the dealership ones, usually have a sim card in their. (To be able to track the vehicle, and syphon as much information they can) This was/is a life 360 tracker.

Anywho, just telling you guys. Make of it what you like.

100% that was a tracker for a vehicle theft ring.

The reason why I said it is specifically because the one thread earlier about them using RF transmitter signals to steal those first couple vehicles.
