Who’s Running The New AlphaRex Luxx or Nova Tail Lights on Their 6G?

Is anyone running the new AlphaRex LUXX or NOVA Series Tail Lights on their 6G 4Runner yet?

Curious to hear from those who’ve made the switch:

• How do they compare to your previous tail lights?
• What do you think of the fit, appearance, and light output?
• Do you consider AlphaRex superior to other aftermarket brands?
• What lighting brands would you recommend to a friend or family member?

Just arrived. Have not installed yet. Got the smoked out NOVA. Hoping smoked wasn’t the wrong choice.

10mm deep socket to take off 2 bolts each side and connector clip pressed down instead of just pulling off. other than that, pretty straightforward.

Nothing is ever easy. So I installed the first Alpharex NOVA tail light. Prismatic. Smoked. Tested it out. Without headlights on, turn signal works fine. Put the headlights on and it starts doing some weird shit. I also think the OEM backup light looks brighter. But can’t figure out the turn signal issue.

Oh wow! I thought it was just me. I have the exact same issue with the turn signal messing up on both sides with headlights on. Works perfectly with DRL and Hazards only. It also messed up my front headlights sequential as well but I put taillights back to stock and everything seems to be working perfectly.

I’ve contacted Alpharex and working with them to figure out a solution cause there will for sure be more of us experiencing this issue. Will keep you posted

Thanks. Yeah I just shot them a message as well. And yes, my front turn signal pacing is off as well on that side.

Interestingly, some simple google searches turn up lots of Alpharex users complaining about something similar going back a few years. Sometimes its headlights, sometimes its tail lights. AI seems to relate it to low-draw LED conversions. Suggesting some sort of resistor kit.

You hit it spot on. Who knows how long R&D may take if this has been an existing issue

Super disappointing since the lights are quite cool. How the hell does something like this not come up in quality assurance checks before you bring a product to market?
