Demo of CarTrimHome C12 Head Unit (14.6" Screen Upgrade)

Hey Y'all,

I completed an early demo of the Cartrimhome c12 head unit. This is just a little bit of its functionality.
Thanks for your support. I have a trail video coming up soon but not too excited about the video footage as it was my first time filming on the trail. I'll also have a volume knob installation coming up within a few weeks. Subscribe and stay tuned my dudes. Catch you on the trails.

Can you adjust all the settings that they are in the Vehicle Settings ?

I can not change a lot of things there . Can you adjust the Lock and unlock when you start driving and when you put the car in park

For the GPS just don't put the GPS antenna in the JBL box. Run it to the Right side bar and probably will fix the GPS issue. I had the same problem. I bought another antenna from Amazon though. But at the beginning did the same thing with the CTH antenna but then I moved it to the right side bar and boommmmmm. All good now with 16 satellites all the time

Most likely there are stuff close to the middle of the car that interfere with the GPS antenna.

I am searching a way to connect the Facrory GPS but I have not found anything yet .

Not even sure where I’ve pushed the antenna to right now I’ve pulled the unit so many times. I bought some Velcro cable ties and once I get my mic I’m going to run and the volume know I’m going to install I’m going to clean the wires up and seal I may run it through the out and around. I probably should have edited that scene out but I’ve filmed so many times, had issues with focus, audio, exposure. Im still learning.. but it’s fun. I’m not too worried about it though because I mainly use the CarPlay and then just switch over to android automotive for my kids or when I’m parked. I’m having fun with it still though and I know there is still stuff I can do with it or learn about it.

Installed the Volume Knob today . It took me like an hours and a half to do it because i need it to modify the CTH frame .

It's not the perfect fit but it works for now

See some pictures for the modification. You need to do the cuts on left and right sides of the frame as there are left and right air vents

I missed this message! I do not have the volume knob yet. I’m waiting for cartrimhome to get back to me. You have pics of it finished up and installed. Good to know details here, thanks for sharing. I did email cartrimhome and they said they are reworking the volume knob panel… why they are still selling this kit with a panel that doesn’t fit is beyond me. I would be willing to get one to have to modify and post a video to help people though.

Yes they do reworking for the volume knob . I informed them since the beginning that I saw that it did not fit and I sent them pictures . I think I was the first that I reported the problem and that's why the are working on the new redesign of the volume knob .

The problem is that they used the designs from the Tacoma and they thought that it will fit with the 4 runner but the airvents even though it looks the same internally are different!!!

Interesting, the headunit I'm using is from youducar and it uses the same board, same chip and relatively exactly the same, pressing the volume knob turns the screen off and it comes back on and the knob do not adjust the volume nor it lights up at night. Thinking I might've ordered a defective knob from cartrimhome.

When I press the volume knob its only mutes the volume does not turn the Screen off.
