Hello All,

I'm looking to get some new tires on my ORP. I don't do any extreme off roading. Just some dirt roads, beach sand, and some easy to moderate Off road trails. Does anyone here have an opinion on the below tires on these conditions? Or should I just go with a set of KO3 or ATW4? Or something else?

Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent
Cooper Road + Trail AT
Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse AT 2

Thank you!

I'm not a fan of the K03's because they balance poorly. Atw3's, and now Atw4's have been my go to. They handle great, balance easily, and don't have a lot of road noise. They haven't given me personally any reason to look elsewhere tire wise.

are some I'm considering.

I got the Falken Wildpeaks AT4W on 18", on 275/70/18. It runs excellent but very stiff (E-load / 10-ply) and has poor MPG (16-18 MPG) on average. But the pros is they are sexy, perform excellent on wet, muds, gravel, rocks, unpaved terrains.

In the future when it's time to get new tires, I'll probably get SL-load, like the one for EV trucks in the same size.

I am running 265/70 R18 KO3s. Load D. No issue balancing. Had them road force balanced at a Toyota dealer. Have about 1,000 miles on them with some 2+ hour highways trips at 60 - 75 mph and drive very nice. Honestly love them so far. Had them offroad twice so far.

Definitely looking into the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent as well with Toyo & Nitto Grapplers

I also have the Nitto on my list, but not sure if I need that much tire.

Nokian Outpost APT? Downsizing tires?

I looked at many tires;

Michelin Defender LTX M/S2
Michelin Primacy A/T
Michelin LTX Trail
Michelin CrossClimate
Michelin X Ice Snow SUV
Continental TerrainContact A/T
Toyo Open Country A/T
BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A
BFGoodrich Rugged Trail T/A

There were another dozen or so. Some were eliminated quickly, others survived the initial culling. I need traction, predictability, and winter performance and am trying to minimize or preferably eliminate swapping tires for each season. That does give up some capability and downsizing would be acceptable to me if there were a measurable performance edge. I don't need or want a jacked truck with steam roller tires. Adequate clearance and reliable performance is it.

Coopers (have several sets of these on different vehicles).

265/70/18 SL. Butter. PSI at 33. Excellent in the rain and very low noise.

Went from the 20" wheels and Yoko's to 18" TRD Accessory wheel with Coopers. MPG went down under 1 MPG. Wheel is a lot lighter and the tire is about a wash but with a more aggressive tread.

Really like them.

I had Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT on my Ram 2500 truck and I liked them. Toyo M655 now which are wonderful tires. Both are load range E, understandably. I've had General Grabber AT2 on a Tahoe and liked them. The best all terrain tire I've ever used was on that Tahoe, the Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor with Kevlar. Quiet, tough, excellent in the winter, great in the rain and dry roads, and they were load range C so a standard load tire might've been perfect. Wish they still made it. On the X5, the Michelin Premier LTX all season is the best tire I've used: 90% plus of a snow tire, good economy, very quiet, wore great. ~50k on the first set (19"), almost 65k on the second (18") and on my third now with about 15k. The 4Runner is going to get something a little more aggressive. We're all looking for that perfect tire.
