So a few weeks ago I had a Westcott Design lift installed at a decent place since the vehicle was new and under warranty. (I won't name the place). Everything has been great driving around town etc. I have yet to get it out on the highway, and maybe that's a good thing.

So after lunch I drove thru a parking lot that had these long diagonal speed bumps, where one wheel goes over at a time. When ever I went over one I felt this loud clunk. Best described like a shock being unbolted, metal on metal. So I stopped got out and rocked the vehicle, and I could hear it again. WTH! So when I got home this is what I found and lucky I didn't loose that bolt. I assume when the lift was installed two weeks ago this bolt got missed when torquing them down.

DOES anyone know the proper torque for this bolt so I can check the others?

Thanks in advance.

Bummer! I’m very happy with my Westcott 2.5”/0.5” lift. I am currently in Moab after my wife and I dropped our son off at college in Denver. As for your vehicle, I’d take it back to the installer and demand a thorough inspection and have them re-torque all fasteners. Beforehand, I’d call Westcott Designs in Phoenix; they’ll know the torque values for sure. Assuming your installer is an authorized Westcott dealer/affiliate, I’d also let Westcott know what happened (and send pics). The folks at Westcott are very knowledgeable and were responsive and very helpful both times I called them with questions. Westcott would also probably appreciate this feedback in case they need to implement corrective actions with the installer. Cheers and good luck! - Brian

The shop I went to color marked every bolt they touched and have to come back in 600 miles to get everything checked. Sorry to hear about that but you saved yourself from something bad happening.
