Exterior Tailgate Left Light Will Not Turn Off

Anyone experience this? Just started tonight. And it happened after I installed a Meso Customs white/red dome light. I read that the light at issue is tied to the dome light in some way. The Meso light wasn’t turning off at first. Then finally started working but then the exterior tailgate light wouldn’t turn off. I swapped the OEM done light back in but issue persists.

Pretty sure it is a switch around the auxillary buttons, against the dash by your left knee.

Talking the on/off door switch? tried that. Nothing.

have you tired pulling battery negative to see if that will reset something? Did you disconnect battery to install?

did not disconnect battery on install. Have never done that for an interior light upgrade. I’ll try unplugging for reset.

After 40 mins it just magically turned off. Given it happened immediately after I did the Meso Customs dome light swap, I figure the two had to be related. Head scratcher.
