just got rid of those utterly crap useless grantrek pt5a tires that came on the platinum.

did a short drive up to 55 mph and it was like night and day ride quality.

got a $50 b-day gift card discount and was cheaper than discount tire after fee's and tire protection plan. also submitted $80 michelin refund online

discount tire wanted ~ $1800 for the same tires with fee's and protection plan. they wanted $321 just for the tires each. and the protection package is like $253

You’ll get about $200 for those Dunlops. I tried to sell them for more but not many bites and I didn’t want them taking up room at my house. The Michelin is a great tire.

i told them to keep them, dont really care. already have a spare set of tires from the 23 tundra anyway if i need some tires. at least those where good for pavement driving.

drove them to work this morning doing 75 mph. much better than the grandtreks. the expansion joints dont jolt going over them (tires were set at 34 psi in the grandtreks and the ltx ms2) and the feeling it more softer/muted with the ltx ms2 vs the grandtrek's.

once the ltx ms2 warmed up, the tires felt better and not as jittery as the grandtreks

Iv seen a few people run your new set. Iv heard good things about them. Keep us posted on the experience after you get a good 15,000 miles on them! Always good to know others experience with new rubber.

have a 4k miles trip memorial week. taking 3 days of vaction for 9 days off (i work 4x10's and i get all federal holidays)

heading from ND to ATL to see my mom for 3 days and possibly a uhaul trailer on the way back. hopefully nothing bigger than the 5x8 trailer.

round trip is 3500 miles, not including running around ATL to take care of business and visiting friends.

also forgot to add, the confidence taking on ramps that i have been taking in my 14 4R with x-reas and defenders is just as good now with the 6th gen with the new defenders. the grandtreks howled pretty easily taking the same on ramps that the defenders just eat for lunch in the 4R.

i have 2x45 degree on ramps (one going from 35 mph to 20 mph to 55 mph and one from 55 mph to 25 mph to 55 mph), i can take them at a higher entry speed than the grandtreks, i would say about 10-15 mph better in the defenders with no howling)

the 20 mph ramp has a sharper curve than the 25 mph curve on ramp i can now hit them around 30-35 mph with the defenders than the grandtreks at a lower speed
