Finally, got to take this baby out for a proper test. Went to the Badin Lake Recreation Area in Uwharrie. My TH is completely stock and it breezed through everything that I was brave enough to try (up to mid-moderate level) and didn't need to put in 4Hi or 4Lo at all. I believe the A-trac kicked in a few times, but it wasn't noticeable and it didn't struggle. Although some of the approaches or departures seemed pretty close it didn't scrap a single time.

Parking right off the trail and popping the RTT - unbeatable. Thank you Toyota and iKamper.

Question about your trailhunter. Did the rear drop down a little when you added the tent and loaded up in rear?
The reason I ask is that the aftermarket arb/ome suspension is only available with light load springs. A medium spring if it were available could handle 300+ lbs of weight before it starts to drop down. Unloaded it would be a stiffer ride in the rear.
was the ride smooth when you first drove it with nothing added to it.

thanks!

There has not been a noticeable drop, but maybe a negligible one. I swapped out the 3/4 ARB rack that came with it for a full length Prinsu standard rack, out of concern over the ARB's max dynamic weight rating. The ride is generally smooth all around but on bumpy roads you definitely feel the bumps, but I was expecting that from a 4R... :)

Thanks!

I didn’t realize you had a hybrid with the batteries in the back. Knowing this it’s probably a medium spring in the rear

What RTT is it?
iKamper Skycamp 3 - Got it because my son is 6'3" and I wanted us to be comfortable inside, truthfully we could easily fit a third adult.

Nice man!! Keep us posted if you go with an awning. I have a similar set up and it seems we need an awning with extended brackets if we want to keep the ikamper centered.

I was very close to getting an awning and I will at some point. I got my tent and Prinsu rack done at rack attack in the raleigh area, they did a good job with that so I ordered the awning through them. Waited about 2 months for the parts to come in, drove out the 2 hours to the shop and an hour or so into the install they let me know that they ordered the wrong parts to connect to the Prinsu. I'm generally easy going but after waiting 2 months and assuming they knew what they were doing as far as how to get the awning mounted and then driving 2hr there I had them issue a refund and when I get it done it will be somewhere else, or I'll get a friend to just help me do it...
