Surface Shield Rust Protectant Undercoating Applied (DIY)

Prepped the SR5 for the winter with Blasters Surface Shield. Did it myself with the kit below linked below. I’m no means an expert on application and I just followed “Repair Geeks” how to guide on apply it correctly.

Here my tips
- Prep correctly
- Take your time
- Wear personal protective equipment. Over spray will happen
- Have fun making your 4Runner last longer.

Yes I took down the spare tire and pulled back the wheel well covers with the tires off. Job took about 3 hours total. And well worth it in my opinion.

That's great! I need to do this too, I was wondering if it was something I could do myself, now I know I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

I was hesitant at first to do it myself also but after watching the video I linked above it gave me confidence to do it myself.

Just take your time and prep the car correctly and you will be fine.

Nicely done. You're inspiring me to do the same. Did you lift the car in anyway, or just shimmy under the 4runner on your back?

I used jacks so I can take the wheels off while I sprayed the wheel well and put the wheels back on. With the car on jacks and tires installed. Then I shimmied my way under car. Lol.
