Just picked up my 2025 4Runner and looking for some places in either NJ area (PA, NY also work) or VA to do some day trips or quick overnights. Looking to get more into off-roading/overlanding now that I’ve got this since I didn’t give my Tacoma the proper off-road love it deserved. Any insight into parks, trails, etc. would be great. If you’ve got any videos to watch or tips to learn too that’d be awesome. Thanks!

Not gonna be any rock crawling on the east coast ones, but for true overlanding its a huge resource. The sections in Maryland up to Carlisle (going north) are much more road biased but at least its country ass roads through Amish country up the side of the mountain. They have all the GPX files available for free on their site ridebdr.com

That said, you'll need an app in Android Auto/Apple CarPlay to use them natively in the dash, and I like OnX. It is cheap (not the best for planning longer trips) but great for just looking for roads

Also, the BDR ppl have "movies" on YT for all the sections. Its primarily motorcycle based, but these are all on publicly accessible forest service roads, so you'll be fine to drive them too
