When will Toyota begin building/shipping 2026 4Runners?

I’m curious. Does anyone know when Toyota typically begins to build the next model year? I Put down a deposit this past June (24th) and was told at that time that the delivery could take 4-6 months, or perhaps longer. Six months puts us at late December. If later, could be Jan, Feb., who knows.
So I’m wondering, if mine is not in transit (boat) by end of 2025, could they be building the 26’s by then and I might get a ‘26 rather than the’25 I ordered?

I was told in California they wouldn’t get the 2026 model until April 2026

With transit that probably means they don’t depart Japan till around Feb/March.

Wow...it made a big difference ordering a few months earlier. I ordered mine 2025 4Runner Off-Road Premium non hybrid late March 2025 and got it delivered end of July 2025. If I would wait by May or June 2025, I'll be in your shoe. I don't think there is a big difference in the 2025 4Runner vs 2026 4Runner. Good luck with your delivery of your new 4Runner. I loved mine black and black with only 500 miles on it. Still smelled like brand new inside. Let us know here. It's just me but I like even # 2026 vs 2025.

I want to say the build date on mine was December 23rd and I took delivery Feb 14, located in Texas. I can't envision they would be making 25's into 26 so first 26's would prob show up end of February is my guess. The last highlander I bought in 2020 I took delivery late Feb and that was the first one my dealership received.

I place deposit in late April for Sonic Red Limited with brown interior, AWD & no 3rd row. 1st allotment was due in August 23rd. Dealership said they experienced a shipping error and placed a backup order. ETA is November 13. The 1st allotment still has no ETA dates (on 4Runner Allotment tracker). I too asked when the 2026 will be delivered and was told, 'no date yet for Texas'.
