I asked the sales guy a few weeks ago before I got my 2025. He said they won’t get the 2026 model until April/may.

there's no way that can be right, can it?? I imagine we'll see 2026's in November at the latest, or I'm going to feel really bad about turning down my opportunity at a 2025 Trailhunter in early September 😭

The Lexus GX550 first arrived around March? 2024 as a 2024 model... 2025's showed up January-February 2025.

If you go pull up the spreadsheet of allocations over from this thread and estimated arrival dates sort by date you will see 2025 allocations show through December and a few for early Jan, so I'd say its safe to assume we wont see 2026's on lots this year.

I also believe I read that the 10th digit of the VIN will switch from "S" to "T" for the 2026MY so that backs up the data on the spreadsheet showing all "S" vins.

My sales guy just texted me and my custom TRD Pro doesn’t have a scheduled delivery date until mid Dec to Mid Jan and spec sheet is showing 2025.

This is honestly poor handling by Toyota, and unacceptable. They should've had a hard date cutoff and just built cars as 2026 long ago. BMW starts that process in ~July! I don't think it's ok to buy a brand new car fresh from the factory that's already out of date by a year.

I have been pondering the same thing since he messaged me. If I get a 2025 and then the 2026 come out a couple months later I probably would be irritated. I have to send him a message and ask. The only upside to my situation is they messed up on my allocation and I am able to customize this one how I want.

what you consider poor works just fine for toyota. and the 4runner 6th gen has had its normal MY cycle changed from previous gens. it use to be oct was the beginning of a new MY, but it looks like they have shifted it to jan or feb as the new MY cycle.

which means 2026 will probably not start production until december

they didnt start selling 2025 until jan-feb of 2025 and then they only sold non hv models at first. hv models didnt start production until march/april of 2025.

also forgot to add, year 1 and 2 of a new gen toyota doesnt really do any changes. they are still ironing out assembly line nuances. you wont see any options or PIO options change until year 3 of the new gen. so waiting for a 2026 wont materially change anything when you compare it to a 2025.

this was evident in the 22-23 tundra's. nothing changed between them option/package wise.

it wasnt until 2024 that toyota started shuffling the options and packages around.

on our 23 tundra vs a 24 tundra, they detached the hud from the avs/auto boards being exclusively mutual requirements.

they also added the TRD OR option to the platinum which didnt exist prior to 2024.
