What is this thing?

Anyone know what this thing is in an ORP non hybrid? I tried to open it but felt like i was going to break something. Whats in there?

Yep, the spare tire lowering rod (3 pieces) and related stuff is in there. I'd appreciate if you'd give it a yank to open it, and see if it closes tight when you re-insert the cover. I posted a question about that a while back but nobody responded. Mine doesn't quite close completely when I re-installed the cover (see:

Mine opened fine and closed fine, just ensure the bottom groves are aligned and the top will snap in.

Mine snaps back into place no issues as well.

I found it easier to open by pulling up from the bottom.
