Happy to be in a 4Runner again (we've had a 2003 and 2015 in the past, but got rid of the 2015 in 2020 because it was just too underpowered.)

Just took delivery of a 2026 Platinum. So far, I'm not impressed with the "user profiles" feature. My wife and I both set up Toyota accounts through the app, but it seems like it wants to limit the functionality to only one user... and changing profiles in the vehicle takes a few more steps than I'd like it to.

Also, we cannot seem to connect our key fobs to the memory seats so that the driver's seat automatically adjusts based on whose key fob was used to unlock the vehicle... I saw all the tutorials online, none of them worked for me. As a note, we discovered that the driver seat was not calibrated before we took delivery, but we did fix that... but it makes me wonder what else the dealership didn't calibrate for us before we drove it off the lot.

Has anyone else experienced the key fob thing, and found a solution?

cant have 2 toyota accounts for the same vehicle. its a limitation and liability issue and security issue for remote start/lock/unlock

been there tried it. you can have 1 account but multiple vehicles tied to it.

profiles at tied to the vehicle and fob, not to the account

you need to have 1 fob inside the vehicle when you add it to the vehicle. also you need to go into the profile and select link to fob

also do not have both fobs with you both get in the vehicle, it will usually take the primary fob if there is a conflict (i am guessing since when she does brings her's its my fob that the truck usually takes)

make sure the other fob is far enough away, if its with range is will screw up the process.

also have 1 person be the primary on both vehicles, its helps if its the same person.

the wife drives the 23 tundra and i am primary profile since the account is under me.

on the 25 4runner i am primary and she is second on the profiles

and configure the settings to the person first then after that link the fob to the profile.

it works correctly if you do it right. whenever i use my fob, the 23 tundra move the seats, steering wheel, mirrors and brings up my AA

when the wife drives it does the same for her settings when she unlocks the vehicle.

sucky part of the app, you can only set 1 primary vehicle to the account. too bad you cant set a primary vehicle per phone, so i set the wife's tunda as default and i have to go into the app and switch to my 4R if i want to remote start.

Thank you for the reply... I'll give the key fob thing another try.

Okay... So I've got the fobs so they load our profiles separately... based on the fob (it's nice that it does it automatically... for a minute, thought changing profiles meant 3 touch buttons and entering a PIN).

But I still cannot get each FOB to move the seat location... I've got seat position #1 programmed for my wife under both profiles... and I've got seat position #2 programmed for me.

Any suggestions to fix that? I've seen several tutorials where it says to hold the seat button and the lock button on the fob simultaneously, but that hasn't worked yet.

setting a seat memory (pressing set and a #, the system will ignore this process and not tie it to a profile) is not the same as having a seat memory # tied to a profile.

in my case #1 is the wife setting in the 23 tundra and 25 runner. mine is #2

once you have a vehicle recognize a fob (it will say welcome xxx on the head unit) press the corresponding seat # for that fob.

as long as that fob is linked to a profile and you pressed the correst seat #, the vehicle will remember the seat setting.

now if you press the other seat setting, it will retain that seat setting with the profile, ie if you press your profile it will remember that setting the next time she gets in. you can over ride it by her pressing her memory #.

dont read/watch tutorials. read the manual 168/189

as soon as you have everything setup correctly, when you unlock and open the door you should see the seat start moving (if another person is driving from the last ignition off)

on my 4R this isnt an issue since i am the only one driving it. the 23 tundra, when the wife gets off work and we go out afterwards (we always take her tundra for he ease of entry/exit due to bad knee) as soon as i open the unlocked door, the seat moves to my setting.
