I‘m really liking the trd pro, trailhunter headlights, do we know if they fit on lower trim levels such as sr5s, do we know part number?

. I’m also looking Into alpharex but i heard they fade overtime. also, waiting for Morimoto to release their own version.

I don't know for sure if the 4Runner lamps are designed the same as the Tacomas in how they plug in, but if they are, it should be plug and play. I've seen a couple Tacomas now install the Limited trim lamps on the lower trimmed trucks. They even have a dummy plug you can put the unused connector into. I plan on doing this to my ORP the second it arrives at my dealership so I will try and update this once I confirm it

Interesting. Because the Pro/TH lights have four lights instead of the two in the lower trims.

Yea that’s one of the reasons I’m not 100% sure. That and unlike the Tacoma, the 4Runner could very well use a completely different connection on the back. The Tacoma has a dummy plug where you can put the connector for the halogen turn signal on the Limited lamps, and the main connector is plug and play which retained full functionality including the LED DRL so I am really hoping the 4Runner is similar. If not I will just have to eat the 20% restocking fee and return the lamps. I will update this post saying if it does or doesn’t work(unless someone else does that before me) once I take delivery.

I'd slap 'em on eBay and get 90% back instead of paying a bullshit 20% restocking fee LOL

Also to add, considering the AlphaRex aftermarket lamps are plug and play, it gives me hope this will work because it doesn’t say it doesn’t work for certain trims.

Just wanted to follow up if you ever installed the premium headlights? Looking to get the Limited ones on my Off Road Premium. Toyota lists several headlights in the higher dollar range which I’m assuming are the premium headlights for the various trims (TRD Pro, Trailhunter, Limited, and Platinum).
Which part numbers did you end up ordering?

I still have not taken delivery of my 4Runner. ETA seems to be unavailable at the moment so the best the dealer can estimate is sometime early next year. Probably just going to do a 1-2 year lease on a Tacoma and then get a 4Runner once they are more readily available because I need something for the winter.

Any word back on this? Also anyone know if all trims have the auto level button that you can adjust the headlight height?

Pretty sure even the entry SR5 has the auto-level. My '13 Tundra has them and they're awesome.

So quick update... While I haven't taken delivery of my 4Runner, I did do a lot more research and looking at wiring connectors and everything else, these are plug and play and will work as long as the vehicle has the levelling motors. Even if you have the base headlamps with the halogen turn signal, they will still work. And going by all this info, they should also work in the Tacomas for anyone interested. They are the same shape and mount the same, and the wiring connectors on the Tacoma are the exact same part number as the ones for the 4Runner.

Someone just made a post on fb group they installed a set of pros and they were plug and play. Makes me wonder if the ebay replica pros for tacoma would be alsp plug and play for fraction of the cost

Yea I was pretty confident the 4Runner trims would be plug and play without issue because the Tacoma is like that. Its why I am fairly confident the 4Runner lights will work in the Tacoma. Its all the same connections, and as seen from aftermarket options like AlphaRex, they are the exact same shape which means they should also share all the same mounting points. I just need some free time so I can install and test it and hopefully be the first person with TRD Pro 4Runner lights installed on a Tacoma.
