Hello — I recently installed OEM heated seats in my U.S.-spec SR5. While the system functions correctly, the heat output is weak (imo). The seats do warm, but the level of heat is significantly less than what I have experienced in other vehicles.

All components are OEM and were installed and wired according to the Factory Service Manual (FSM). Given that the Canadian-market SR5 includes heated seats as a standard feature, I am interested in understanding what level of heat output others are experiencing with the OEM cloth heated seats.

Given I added this as an add-on to the SR5 package I doubt I will get much help from the dealer.

are you setting the switch to 3 bars? i am guessing you are.

if you are, the heat output is barely adequate at 3 bar settings. the wifes 23 tundra platinum seats heat up at 2 bar that compares to my platinum 3 bars. 3 bars on the tundra is unbearable heat wise for me.

3 in the 4runner is bearable long term wise.

the tundra platinum heated steering wheel is weak compared to my 4runner platinum. the 4runner heats up about double the output vs the tundra.

Yeah setting them on 3 bar is barely warm imo. Was wondering what others are experiencing.

Yeah setting them on 3 bar is barely warm imo. Was wondering what others are experiencing.

but i have noticed the output is interior temp relative it seems.

the seats output drops off and the steering wheel output drops off also after the interior gets warm enough to take off a jacket

not sure if its my imagination or what but it feels like the output drops off
